I have vivid memories of my first fundraising auction many years ago. A Sunday school was raising money to fund activities for the kids and eight freshly-baked pies were on the auction block. I was amazed at the number of people in the crowded basement and wondered if they would bid on the pies. I was halfway through selling the third pie, asking for $75.00, when I realized that my true calling was to be a fundraising auctioneer. The unique combination of a charitable audience and an auctioneer can equal not only money but an atmosphere of giving and generosity.
Since then I have conducted fundraising auctions for hundreds of organizations, each one a memory I will always cherish. I meet amazing people at each event and their passion for their cause inspires me to help others.
When I am not an auctioneer at fundraising events I am behind the microphone at Auction Depot Inc. which I co-founded in 2004. I am blessed with amazing staff and a customer base that support me in many fundraising campaigns throughout the year. My philanthropic activities extend to many organizations from local schools and service groups to JDRF Canada and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
I reside in Calgary with my wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters. We enjoy spending our family time camping, exploring on some ATV excursions and various other outdoor activities.
